Dinner Group

Dinner group has started. I love dinner group. Let me tell you a little about dinner group so either you can enjoy it yourself, or . . . not. I don't care, but let me tell you again, I love it.

I have two lady friends. We each take a day of the week and cook dinner for our family and the two other families. My day is Monday. Today I made Terryaki chicken and rice. I made everything here and at 5:30 my two friends came and picked up their families portion of the meal. Tomorrow I won't have to cook. Wednesday I won't have to cook, and if we have enough left overs I won't have to cook on Thursday and Friday either. Now, when we first started I was worried that I wouldn't like it because I love to cook, but after a very long summer full of cereal and macaroni and cheese for dinner I am ready to have real food again. ( I would like to add my hubby works out of town and really, that is the reason why I love to cook. I love to see his face, his compliment of the meal. With him not here I don't get that. Instead I get, eeeewwww, what is this. I don't want green beans... Yuck! I hate this food.)

I have a problem, though. The rules of the dinner group are: 1 main dish and 1 side dish. I am running out of sides. I need help with side dishes. Green beans and corn, and (of course) green jello will only go so far. If any of you have any suggestions about sides I would love to hear them.

Happy Cooking!

My mom used to take canned peaches and put a little bit of brown sugar and sour cream in them. They were wonderful!
