Hearts it is!

If you noticed I changed my profile background. Ya, that's right! How on top of things am I? Totally!! Actually I figured once the baby got here I'm not sure I would be doing much typing and background changing, so I figured I would do it now.

I think that I am only a couple of days away from bringing this new baby into our lives. What a miracle it is! I was talking to my midwife today about pregnancy, and mojo, and feel good feelings. I've been worried about who's going to be here for the birth, who I want here for the birth, and if there will be to many people. She said babies have a way of bringing who needs to be here, here. So, I'm letting that happen. We actually starting talking about a lot of other things too, but ended up on a conversation about how wonderful this pregnancy has been for me. Let me tell you why.

My first three pregnancies in the first trimester were absolutely horrible. I hated it... I puked, felt sick all of the time, wanted to die rather than continue on, and with my 3 child to the Lord I was done after I had him unless he made me not get sick anymore because I couldn't handle the puking. It is so difficult for me to be sick, because I 1) don't like to be sick and 2) if I am sick have an arsenal of things that make me better in no time. That doesn't work so well with morning sickness.

After I had #3 I went on a journey of cleansing my liver, both physically and emotionally. Your liver is your filter of all things... emotions, crap you put in your body, stuff like that. If it isn't working properly, well, you can guess what happens, you just don't feel good and in my case, I was an extremely angry person especially when pregnant with all three kids. Just onry... I mean go ballistic at the lady that's staring me down in the grocery store onry.

So, cleansing my liver, balancing my hormones was a goal I had, and for the past four almost five years I have been working pretty steadily at doing that. When we finally decided it was time to have #4 I dreaded the morning sickness, except this time... it didn't come with a vengeance. I think that I threw-up one time and was able to function just about normally. I still had a few times of a queasy stomach and acid beyond belief, but I felt tons better.

And... I have been so calm and peaceful I have surprised myself. I know that my emotions have been heightened but I have been in control and calm most of the pregnancy, and to me, I have felt very mellow. Bliss, I tell ya, pure bliss. My midwife even made a comment about how mellow I have been. My husband may not feel the same way, but... he does realize I have been a lot less 'mean' than before.

I discovered that during the four years of cleansing, that livers also process your hormones and if your liver isn't working when you get pregnant you have a harder time dealing with all the progesterone, so, just because I wanted to cleanse my liver I actually helped myself with this pregnancy and the Lord (in a sense) did make me better. Of course, I was the one that had to do all of the work, but let me tell you... it totally paid off!

Now, I am ready to have this baby.... ready, and I think he's ready to come! WOOO HOO!!! I'll let you know when he arrives! Wish me luck!

It's almost Time!!

It is almost time for two wonderful events. Christmas is almost here. I'm excited to see the children react, to feel the love and to play the Wii we bought them for Christmas. Last Christmas all three of the kids got the Chicken Pocks. At first I was really kind of bugged when I found out my son was exposed, but once it happened it was the BEST. CHRISTMAS. EVER. When I grew up we were always going somewhere on Christmas day, which wasn't a bad thing because I loved seeing my cousins, but we were always at my Grandma's F.O.R.E.V.E.R.! I had toys to play with, cd players to use, and clothes to wear. Who had time to sit at Grandma's forever. Plus, I always wanted to go to a movie, but rarely could. ... any, getting back to my point here.... the kids came down with the Chicken Pocks and we spent the whole day together in our pj's playing games, watching movies, and eating way to much junk food. It was rad, though.

This year, since I am a week away from having baby, we decided that we won't be going anywhere on Christmas day. Just hubster and the kids home enjoying movies, wii, and loads of other stuff we got for Christmas. We may even go to a movie because, well, it's the bomb!!!

So... that brings me to the second item. It's almost time for this bundle of joy to come into the world. I'm ready. It's getting more and more uncomfortable to do just about anything. My husband is ready because, well, if mom ain't happy, ain't nobody happy, and the kids are getting excited.

We have a couple of names we are thinking about. We like Nathan, Samuel, David, Aaron... and that's all we got. I kind of thought about Adam last night, but that might be to close to my other son's name. I love to see what they look like once they are born and make a decision from that point. It's going to be fun. We will keep you posted, but for now... We are all wishing you a wonderful Holiday Season!

My Brother's Keeper

There have been a few things that have been rolling around my mind lately and I have questions. It's Christmas time and it's generally the time that we feel like we should lend a hand and take care of our brothers and sisters in need. In fact, the LDS church just came out with the fourth mission. Instead of the normal three, the mission statement of the church is now: Proclaim the gospel, perfect the Saints, redeem the dead, care for the poor and needy?

So, what exactly does that last part mean? I mean really, what does it mean?

There have been a few discussion here and kind of in this post that have really got me thinking about things. I mean, I get the whole idea of caring for those in need, but how do you decipher who is actually in need?

For example, you have a neighbor, friend, or relative that you know is having a difficult time financially, but they still have cable/satellite, 4 cell phones (only 1 needed for work), newspaper delivery, they go out to eat, (often), but yet they complain that Christmas is going to be small this year, and they complain that bill collectors want their money. So, how do you decide if they are in need? And if you are to give to them will it change the state that they currently live, or does it just postpone the inevitable? Or does it matter?

At some point we all have to fall. Some of us fall harder than others, and why is that I wonder? I have a thought. Example, it's a busy day, you have things to do, and not much time. You slip on a pair of shoes and see that one lace isn't done up, but you don't really care to bend down and tie it, so you run out of the house, immediately trip, fall and skin you knee. Now, there are those of us that would get up and think, well that really was stupid and something I don't care to do again, so I'll make sure that I tie my shoes from now on, and the problem is solved. Now, there are others of us that think, ouch that hurt, stupid shoes, maybe I should get a new pair because these ones make me fall. Another pair gets purchased, still the laces are untied, and yet again, we trip and fall, over and over and over and over again. Why not just tie the shoelaces?

So my question, how do you really know they are need? They maybe struggling, but the family has heat, coats, shoes, the essentials do you still donate? Do you put them on the giving tree, or do you just walk away and think, "they really should have tied their laces". I don't know, I'm really struggling with this one. Now, don't get me wrong, the food banks need help, and money and clothes and I have no problem donating my time and talents and money to those organizations. But, if they aren't really naked, do you need to clothe them? When they aren't really needy (because I mean really how many times have you gone to McDonalds with your family of 8 and bought happy meals for all the kids)?

Or, do you even worry about it? Do you stop trying to teach them a lesson and just let God take over?

Balck Friday

I love Black Friday. It is my favorite day of the year. How's that for sad/pathetic/absolutely freaking fantastic? About 8 years ago my sister in law was telling me about Black Friday and how much money she saves in shopping on that day. I was completely stunned and almost scared to shop because, well, my mom is not a shopper... AT ALL! In fact, she hates crowds and she can't stand all the people hovering around...which is how I felt until Black Friday!

Ya, I got over that quick. The first year I went Black Friday shopping I fell in love. It gave me such and adrenaline rush I was hooked. I love this day! I think maybe the reason I love it so much is because again, about 8 years ago my wonderfully brilliant older sister gave me the best advise EVER! She told me what they do to save money for Christmas each year. Each paycheck they place a small amount, say $25, into a Christmas savings account. It is a special type of account which penalizes you if you take out your money sooner than Nov 1st, which is great because then it builds up. So, from that moment, I think it was Feb or March when she told me this, I started saving. Come Black Friday I had the funds to actually go out and spend money and not feel guilty. It freaking ROCKS!!

I went again this Black Friday and shopped longer than I ever have. I shopped for 11 hours. Mind you, I am 8 months pregnant and besides the occasional sit down for a min or two I was going and going and going... much like the energizer bunny. I was with my sisters and mother. It was fun for two of us because we had money, but not so much fun for the three that didn't. I don't understand how they did it. I would be bored to tears to go shopping at 4 in the morning and not have money to spend... but they went anyway and seemed to have a fun time.

The best part about this Black Friday is one super deal I wanted, and got. My 9 year old really wants a DS for Christmas. At Walmart they were selling them for $98. I really wanted this item, so I called in reinforcements. I had to contact my sister who lives in Tennessee to get one for me. The best part, she got one and really she shouldn't have been so lucky. They got to Walmart late and noticed that there was one guy.. one employee who was opening all the locked electronic cupboards. My sister and her husband were standing right in front of the DS cupboard and he says to my sister, "I think that cupboard is open" she said "what, really?" opens the cupboard grabs one and walks away... no more standing in line for her! She rocks.... Did I tell you she rocks? She does! And, she got me a starter kit too! She is just fantastic.

We had loads of fun. I think I bought more than anyone, actually I know I did, but I am almost done with my shopping. All I have to do is buy some shoes for the kids and they are done. I don't know what I am going to get my husband, and I have no idea what I want for Christmas. I thought about a new cell phone because it has been over 2 years, but my old one still works, and silly me, I can't see spending $200 on a phone when the old one is just fine. Plus, by the time I'm really ready to buy they will have been able to work out all the kinks on the 'new' phones and it will be loads cheaper.... shrug... who knows!

So... anyone else go Black Friday shopping? What's the best deal you have gotten?

Family

Family is like fish, after three days they start to stink, or in my case after 10 mins you want to punch them in the face.

Maybe I might be a tad emotional because I'm pregnant and hormonal and all, but seriously, there are some real jackasses in the family. Jackasses, meaning truly their butt must be made of gold because no one else in the world can do what they can do, work as hard as they work, and be as perfect as them....

Barf...

I don't know that I would even be able to explain why I feel this way because there are so many experiences that have brought me to this conclusion.

Now to the universe I say (because I'm not sure I should say specifically who this goes to) I don't care if you feel like you can treat your wife like a doormat, get her pregnant, and not change a diaper because you, 'the man' are better than that. I don't care that you choose to wake up at 4:00 in the morning and work until 10:00 at night, when it was not required, and something YOU chose to do. And, if I get that look, oh yes, that one where you look down upon me because I love my husband, and I want to see him, and I want to be married to him, and he wants to be married to me, and he wants to play with his kids, and he is not going to work 24 hours a day just because you want him to, or you think he should, you look at me like that one more time and seriously I'll jab your eyeballs out! (not to mention the fact that I did live without my husband for 3 years with 3 young kids, and I did it! By myself, something that YOU would never be able to do)

And, I mean really, last time I checked there was already a God and his name does not even resemble yours. It doesn't even start with the same letter....

And, just because you have the time to spend doing things that the rest of the family can't, doesn't mean you deserve more, or you're better than the rest of us, it simply means you have the time, oh, and need I remind you that once again YOU are making the choice to do these things. You don't get to complain about it, or if you are complaining be prepared to hear it from me, because dammit, I'm sick of it! Sick!!!!

Now, on a much better, happier note... I saw New Moon and loved every min of it. The directing was so much better, the cinematography and the CGI was amazing. It was loads better than Twilight! Last Thursday my friends and I had a party gearing up for New Moon and we watched Twilight, and the behind the scenes of Twilight! The director... oy... she should not have been hired... anyway, her voice was horrible and she really bugged me, and if you have a chance to watch her talk, I swear to you she wants to make love to the camera....but enough of that, I was trying to be happier....

The New Moon director, on the other hand, actually produced and delivered what I had created in my mind. It was done well. I was satisfied and I will most likely see that movie again. (I know, Heather, it's okay that you don't like it.... I accept all my friends, even the weird ones ;). But really, it was good and I enjoyed it.

Anything at all?

So it's been a long time since I have written anything of value that doesn't consist of me complaining...

Not so sure this post will be any different.

Although I did try a yummy, most delicious Tomato Bruschetta, it was so good I filled my tummy to over full! A couple of weeks ago hubby and I watched Julie & Julia and she was eating this tomato bruschetta dish in the movie. I thought it looked really good and finally my pregnancy cravings got the better of me and I had to go buy the ingredients. Tomato, garlic, basil, balsamic vinegar, olive oil... how can that not be good? I put it over french bread toasted in butter.... oh... and I forgot the mozz cheese. Seriously it was that good!

Now, to the complaining, or maybe I should be putting it in question format. Why do the same ten people in your ward do the same callings? Why do the relatives of the first counselor in the Stake Presidency get all the good callings? Why can't they be the food storage coordinator? Are they more righteous than us normal people? And, why do we have to have our bishop for longer than 5 years? Why can't they have their run and be done with it? And, I swear to you, I would be great in primary, but.... obviously I have to learn something in my two stupid callings I have right now.... like why do I have to play the organ? I don't know how! And, what the heck, food storage coordinator... do you know how much work I have to do to do that calling? Oh, and if you decline a calling because your husband works out of town and you have little ones running a muck, and they ask you to be the ward activities leader and it just doesn't sound like something you can do... I think you get black listed or something. And, if you say you want to be released from YW's (even though you don't really) but you feel it is best because they put your husband in YM's and you have little kids, and you just got pregnant and thought you would be super sick for so long that it would be better to have someone in there that could do their calling, you get black listed as well...? Who does that?

Oh... that's right... my ward, my bishopric!

On a good note, they are absolutely incredible with the youth and love them so much! I think that means something. They spend loads of time helping with whatever is needed in those departments, and they are great service men...

Okay, let's face it... they aren't me! They aren't as smart as I know I am!

Which is obviously why I'm not the Primary President.... pfff.... go figure!

Sick

I'm done being sick. I have gotten the fever and two colds since I have been pregnant and I'm done. I get cranky and tired and I can't breath.....

After I exploded at the dinner table because 4 year old wasn't eating, my daughter says, "I wish Dad were here."

I said, "Oh ya?"

Daughter, "ya because then he could bless you," and then she got teary eyed.

She's my emotional one. I don't know why she was crying because I didn't say anything to her, but she must sense I don't feel good. I have a head cold my left eye is slightly swollen and any type of light makes my eyes water. So it looks like I'm crying when really all I need to do is sneeze, but I can't because my eyes just sit and water and tear up all on there own, which actually does make me want to cry because on top of all of that I can't sleep. My hips hurt from rolling from side to side...

Oy!

I'm done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
