For FHE tonight the family went to see the circus. Woo Hoo!! We actually had fun. My youngest is at the stage where he can pay attention to something for longer than two min. It's great. We walk in the front door and give the circus workers our tickets and head in to find a good seat. We walk right past the junk trolley, or rather, the trolley that they sell toys for at outrageous prices. There was a pretty cool light saber that the boys wanted. How much you ask? Oh, you know it is on sale for $9.00. That's all a low, low price of $9.00. Ya right! The boys were devastated that they couldn't get one. Just absolutely crushed. My three year old carried on for 20 mins. Uggh!!!
We got some popcorn and some chips and salsa for another low price of $3.00 a pop! Sheesh!! My friend went to and right before the show started she said that they were going to head into town after the circus was over and get a good dinner. I started calculating in my head...ya, we could eat at Olive Garden for the amount of crap I could buy at the circus. Luckily the kids really like Olive Garden so we bribed them.
There were quite a few acts. There was the juggling, the trapeze artist, the lion tamer, the tumblers, the car full of poodles (like Dumbo's car full of clowns). There was even a bear, but my favorite was when the Elephants came out. I just stared in fascination at the Elephants. I think that they are probably my favorite circus animal, no animal period. They are smart too... but what was so interesting to me was watching the Elephants walk. So slow and deliberate. No rush to go anywhere, just taking the time to go where they need to go....oh and did I mention they are smart too? They are like super super smart! The mother Elephant can remember any place her family of Elephants has gone. Oh and I love their trunks. I didn't realize how long those suckers were...so cool. Elephants rock!
So, that was our experience at the circus. Whoot!

Where did you see the circus at? What company did it? I only went to the circus once, when I was a child. I still remember parts of it. Your kids are lucky! Even if they came home light-saber-empty-handed!!!
Funny, I can't even remember who did it. Not a big name, and it was just in St. George, so more low key type of circus.
I've only been to the circus once too... but it was after I was married! Michael took me and even bought me cotton candy (since that was always my dream... to eat cotton candy under the "big top")... I LOVED IT!
