Okay, so the last post was...um.. me in a bad mood. Now I will write 10 things I love about my husband.

1. He is a beautiful man. (can men be beautiful?)
2. He is fab with the kids (I mean seriously, how much can you stand of your 6 year old screaming?)
3. Um...he's great in the...um.. bedroom, you know, he makes the bed and stuff... and puts his clothes away.
4. He is the most caring, compassionate, willing to change, man I know
5. He loves me, and takes care of me.
6. He encourages me to go out with my friends.
7. He provides, ie, goes to work in the hot, hot, sun and cold, cold winter, for me and the kids.
8. He does the dishes.
9. He is so dang handsome
10...I can't possibly write everything down...but he is my man, and I love him even though he frustrates me.

There...how's that? I might have to add a few throughout the next week.

oh wait...

11. He puts up with all of my crap, and all of my crappy days!

Love you doll

Guns

Ten Things I hate about going shooting with my husband.

1. He treats me like a freaking 15 year old.
2. He always looks over my shoulder.
3. He looks over my shoulder to make sure I am aiming right, and then tells me what I need to do to fix it..
4. He doesn 't trust me.
5. He treats me like a 15 year old who has no knowledge of how to point said gun.
6. Just because he thinks he knows guns doesn't mean he actually does. (He thinks he's a Gun God)
7. He treats me like a freaking 15 year old.
8. He doesn't tell his guy friend how to hold an unloaded gun with the safety on.
9. Did I mention he treats me like a freaking 15 year old boy?
and....

10....He's just a big, fat pain in the butt! You know, like Gods gift to Guns..... ugggghhhhh

Gentleman's club

So I got asked to be one of the ward organists. Fun, scary, mostly fun, and now I am awaiting my key. Sunday I popped my head into the bishops office after choir and I asked him when I would get the key so I can start practicing. He told me that Bro. B was in charge of the keys. We laughed and joked for a bit and the executive secretary said something about him, and he was still waiting for a key and had been for some time, and to not get my hopes up. More joking about where he has to get he key from (always telling me to talk to Bro B) ... So anyway, I pulled the card....I said, something to the effect of not getting a key because it is mostly a Gentleman's club (hey, I said it with a smile) and to see the bishop respond was priceless.

Bishop "Oh, oh, it is not either (smiling a bit)...hold on, let me go write this down so that I can tell Bro. B to get you one. Okay so (mumbling this) get Sunshine a key." Golden!!~

Who knew? Who knew the way to get the bishop going is to accuse him of having, or being in a Gentleman's club? Sweet, now I know how to get things rolling with him, and to think all this time of waiting around and all I had to do was pull the Gentleman's card.

Rude you say?

Well, what is a girl to do? Sit and wait forever and ever?

Smart says I!!!

*Warning* This is about Women stuff!

Okay, so I go upstairs and walk into the bathroom and to my surprise I find a tampon on the floor. Luckily it was a new one that one of the boys pulled out to take a gander at. Well, thought I, enough is enough. It is time that these kids know what a tampons does so I don't find them everywhere and so they leave the used ones in the can. So, what followed was a conversation about bleeding and where the tampon goes.

Mom: "So, son, this is for Mommies, and girls when they turn 12. It goes in the same whole as where the baby comes out."

Son: awe, and slight smile, says: "Where does the baby come out?"

Mom: "In a whole between my legs"

Son: "Oh, like a bird, plop..." motioning how a bird lays and egg...happy with himself for understanding.

Mom: "Exactly"

And that was that, my five year old now knows or has an idea of what a menstrual cycle is. A few seconds later 8yo daughter walks in, we start the conversation again and she only says "ewww" to the blood. So, how's that for bold, awkward, and fantastic? I am hoping that the need for the boys to sneak a peek at the tampons has disappeared knowing that it's just another tool and there is no mystery behind it.

Serenity

"God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference."

I was going through my older drafts, and I found this. Today it seems fitting as my husband and I are in a 'discussion'.

What I Know..or don't for that matter

I have been thinking about subjects for blog posts. I went to church on Sunday hoping that something would jump out at me religiously, and I could write about that. Nothing, well there was a little thing about the YW's lesson that, well, some of their lessons are just lame. They have no point, but other than that I don't have much beef with it.

As I was sitting in Sunday School trying not to zone out, not because the teacher is boring, but because I was tired, something stirred in me. I got to thinking about how much I know about the gospel, or how much I think I know. For a while, I'll be honest, I really thought I knew the meat of the gospel. I really felt like I had an education in the gospel, but I discovered what I know about the gospel are the basics. I know I am a Child of God, actually I know we are all children of God, and I know what the commandments are, and I know the promise of tithing. I realized sitting there in Sunday School that the only way I am going to know more is if I study more. What an odd concept, study, huh! Wish they would have taught that one in school, oh wait, they did, I think.

My point? I want to know more. I want to understand the symbolism of the scriptures and the symbolism in the temple. I actually want to know rather than go off of what someone once told me. I want to discover it for myself. The thing is, I am worried. I have a tendency to back myself into a corner. I get all excited about doing something and then realize that it is more than I can handle, or I get scared and just stop. There is a heavy responsibility with knowledge. The more you know, the more you are required to act. Maybe I don't want to act... maybe I do, but the pressure. You know?

So my confession for the new year. I don't know as much as I thought I did, and slowly, step by step, I want to know more. Maybe that is my New Years re-solution.

Chicken Pocks

On Christmas Day my 6 year old son came down with the Chicken Pox. Sweet, I thought! Now, I don't have to go anywhere for Christmas day. A week later, I am not so sure Chicken Pox is the way to go. My son is almost recovered. He has a few pox marks left on him, but my daughter is now covered head to toe in pox.

Lovely!!

I still have one more son to go. Maybe we will get lucky and he won't get them, but chances of that happening are slim to none. Ha!

It is going to be a long winter. Or a long Jan. can't decide just yet which one it will be. The snow is melting and the sun is out. I should probably go outside and get some sun, but then I would have to bundle up. I should go walking too, but yet again, I would have to bundle up. Maybe.... ah... oh well.
