Sleep Deprived

So, I'm still a little sleep deprived and here I sit, at the computer, at 11:15. I should be in bed, but alas, there are times you just need moments to yourself and this is when I can steal them. Of course I always pay for it later.... like at 2 in the morning when the baby feels like he is starving to death... because, you know, he's only had 12 oz of milk and a bowl full of cereal, but still at 2 in the am he's STARVING...

I digress...

I talked to the hubster today. Ya, he's probably not going to be home until Sunday. Last year I finally realized he will never be home when HE thinks he will be home, so I stop expecting him home at that time. If it turns out (once in a freaking blue moon) that he was actually right, then I'm pleasantly surprised, but that doesn't happen often, so I stopped expecting it. He went up North for the week to do a job (which I am so glad he has work) but the timing sucks... S.U.C.K.S! It was my daughters birthday on Tuesday and my sons birthday on Friday and Mother's Day, well, on Sunday.

At first he told me he would be home on the weekend... for, like, two days I believed him, then my brain pulled me out of my sleep deprived stupor and I realized he wasn't going to be home. Still, somewhere in my heart I hoped he would be here sooner rather than later... just got the call that MAYBE he will be home on Sunday. Well, sorry hon but we're having the party without you.

My daughter says to me today: "mom, I have an idea, why don't we open the presents and take pictures of them and then send the pictures to dad".

Smart kid

I tell her no, but when she wakes up tomorrow morning she's gonna' love me. I will tell her that on Sunday we are going to have a party and she can open them, and either dad will be here, or he won't (personally, I'm tired of waiting around)(oh, and I already invited the in laws to come-- so there).

Oh, and can you tell my mood is so much better than the 'ya my life really sucks right now because my husband is out of town and I have a newborn (well 4month old) and I'm still pumping and shouldn't you feel sorry for me' attitude?

Um hum...I took my vitamins and my green drink and my protein shake today... oh how very sane I feel now.

I just need to remember to do it tomorrow, and somehow I know I will make it through...

And really, is there any other option but to survive? Ya, not really-- so there-- high fives to single, husbandless, or otherwise lonely women/wives/mothers out there--

Peace!
