Sunday

I love Sunday. Sunday is such a good day for me. My husband can tell by my mood what kind of day Sunday was for me. If I come home happy and cheerful he can tell I got my fix of the spirit. If I come home ornery and yelling, well, he knows I didn't get my fix.

Yesterday we had our Young Women's Night in Excellence. We did a program that Jenny Phillips wrote. It was beautiful. It was just absolutely incredible. The theme was Steadfast and Immovable. Jenny Philips wrote a script and a handful of songs that went along with this theme. Mercies (the song below) was one of those songs she wrote. My girls NAILED it, and I mean nailed it.

The music director for our ward asked if the YW would sing in sacrament meeting. We decided since we had been practicing for this program we were going to sing one of the songs that we had been learning. Originally we were going to sing 'Like the Stars', but after our Tuesdays brutal (and I mean slit your wrist and bleed out) practice we decided our stronger song was Mercies.

So, Sunday came... I woke up with anxiety because I was leading them in the music and sometimes I reach a point where I say "Ya, okay, I don't want to do this. I think I am sick today.. cough* cough*, yep, I am I almost threw up, guess I can't go." type of nonsense, I know, weird huh? Anyway, I was nervous, we got to church practiced before church started, got in our seats and waited. It was really interesting because the theme for Sacrament was on Gratitude and appreciating the tender mercies the Lord gives us. I smiled, and kind of did a mind high five to the Lord.

The girls got up, we started out great, and bam! I mean hit a home run, sing your heart out, awesome performance. It was great. I was happy and I knew that we did good. After my husband came home from a YM's meeting I asked him how we did. He told me he liked it and then he told me that the bishop liked it, and (this is the best part) the bishop said he looked into the congregation and saw tears. Ah, beautiful! They did it! THEY DID IT! And they sounded awesome. Well, that night we did the full program and it was even better than in Sacrament.

The theme was perfect. It was about being a light to the world. About being a light in the darkness that is surrounding us, and it was about remembering to be more like Him, rather than worry about looking like her. It was just incredible. I felt the spirit so strong and quite a few parents came up to me with tears in their eyes telling me how much they enjoyed it and how much they felt the spirit..... *Sigh* I live for these moments. I just do. This is what makes my world go round. I love to feel the spirit, I love to be a part of something where others feel the spirit that was intended, and I am so grateful to the Lord for pouring His Spirit upon us.

Did I say it was Awesome!!! Those girls rocked!

So, I love Sundays. I love this high that I get. It is Monday and I still have the high. Let's see if I can make it last all week.....
