Tomorrow in YW's I am supposed to be teaching a lesson about The Patriarchal Leadership in The Home. It sounds okay, but earlier this week I had a thought come to me. I was having a particularly tough day, in fact, it was a day full of all those negative feelings that I feel about myself. You might know the ones, not good enough, ugly, not smart enough, fat, alone, rejected, not enough in every way shape and form, and I wondered, I bet these YW feel this same way too. I am sure that they have those feelings, but do they have a place where they can express them? Where they can feel, and know, and receive a witness that the Lord knows how they feel? Well, if they didn't, they do now because this is what I am going to teach.
We will be talking about this article and this (first article that comes up)one.
As I read Elder Hollands words I just weep. I weep to know that our Redeemer knows me. Me, Little ol' Sunshine in a small community raising a family with 3 kids a husband, a dog, and some chickens. I weep to know that the Savior knows the pain, the hurt, the anger, the despair I sometimes feel. And I sob knowing he has given me angels from this mortal life, and he has given me angels from the Heavens, who are both friends and family to help me in my sojourn.
I rejoice in knowing that my... our dear Savior and Redeemer will make me, will make us whole and will never, ever leave us alone, abandoned or rejected. I rejoice in knowing he loves me, and cares about me, and so, for this reason I will not be teaching the original lesson. I want my YW to know they are not alone, they have not been forgotten, and that they are indeed beautiful and wonderful in the eyes of the Lord.
